The River Trail goes from the observation platform at the hotel to the Agua Caliente River, bordering the Arenal Volcano. After reaching the river, the road is closed, as it leads to a high-risk area at the foot of the volcano. Along the route you will see the reestablishment of local plants, and with luck, you will be able to see howler monkeys. It is a quite difficult hiking route due to the slope and terrain conditions.
