The year 2022 ends and one of the best experiences for bird lovers begins -Arenal Bird Count 2022.
This time we had the participation of a leader guide and 4 volunteers from different parts of the country and the Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails was a direct witness of this unforgettable experience.
This year that we left behind was very successful, both for people with these kinds of hobbies, and for us who love this job.
The year 2022 also witnessed the return of birds, after many years of absence, such as the Rufous Vented Ground Cuckoo and the visit for several consecutive years of the Cape May Warbler, which is a rare record for the Zone and the country of Costa Rica.
It should be noted that, in this count, we were able to observe or hear approximately 140 bird species, which places Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails, as one of the best properties nationwide for bird sighting that fills the forests with song and color.
We hope next year to continue with this effort and thus contribute to the conservation of birds.
