Reservation Policies

  • These policies apply exclusively to direct bookings made through our website.
  • Cancellations or modifications must be requested via email at info@arenalobservatorylodge.com or by phone at +506 2479 1070.
  • Changing your reservation, such as altering days or dates, may result in a rate change.
  • All our rates are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Drones and unmanned aircraft are not permitted on the premises.
  • Approval from management is required for such equipment usage, and it will be regulated according to the Civil Aviation regulations of Costa Rica.
  • Smoking is not allowed in all public areas or hotel rooms, whether indoors or outdoors (Law 9028).
  • Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails maintains policies to combat any form of child and adolescent exploitation and supports Law 7899, which penalizes such human exploitation, as we believe that the sexual exploitation of humans undermines the fundamental goal of tourism.
  • Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails will immediately terminate any contract with a company or client that in any way contributes to facilitating or promoting sexual exploitation.
  • Additionally, we reserve the right to cancel reservations for passengers or guests with inappropriate behavior or behavior that may disturb or affect services to other clients.
  • Children aged 0-8 stay for free when sharing a room with their parents.
  • Children aged 0-3 receive free meals (children’s menu), and children aged 4-8 pay 100% for meals.
  • Children aged 9 and above pay as adults.
  • Maximum capacity per room: 4 people.
  • No pets are allowed.
  • Check-in time is at 3:00 pm.
  • Check-out time is at noon.
  • The main gate of the property closes at 11:00 pm.

Deposits & Payments

  • The reservation can be guaranteed with a credit card number and total payment should be made at the lodge at check in time.
  • The reservation can be guaranteed with a partial payment by PayPal and the balance should be paid at the lodge at check in time.

Cancellations & No Shows

  • Cancellations received 15 days or more in advance are eligible for a 100% refund.
  • Cancellations received between 7 to 14 days before check-in have a 50% refund.
  • No refund is available for cancellations received 6 days or less before the hotel’s arrival.
  • A “No Show” will be charged 100% of the reservation.

Note: Euros or Canadian dollars are not accepted.
