Nearly 900 species of birds can be found in Costa Rica and in the surroundings of Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails we have identified more than 500 of these species.
The birds can be observed in various habitats, walking along the trails that cross primary forests, pastures, secondary forests and solidified lava flows. Some of the most spectacular birds are: Bellbird, Tiger Heron, Sunbird, Guaco, Red-fronted Parrot, peacocks, jacanas, hummingbirds, toucans. You can find our complete list of birds here.
